My thoughts

This weekend has been so eye-opening for me and I am very glad that I was able to join this amazing trip.
When I first saw the disaster area, I was so shocked at what still had to be done. At first I was angry with the Japanese government for not helping more, but later when we went in and began cleaning the area for ourselves, I realized what a big job this was, and I fully understood why everything has taken as long as it has.
There is still a lot to be done in the area and I know the people in Tohoku will never fully recover from this experience. I had the privilege to be able to visit Tohoku, so I now feel the responsibility to spread the word that there is still so much more that needs to be done. Hopefully I will be able to inform more people about the current situation in Tohoku and encourage more to volunteer their time for the victims. I know that if the chance comes, I will go volunteer there again in a heartbeat.  G11 M
